Amazing Grace
How sweet the sound, that saved a wretch like me. I once was lost, but now am found, was blind, but now I see. Beautiful words, but do we really understand God’s Amazing Grace?
As our pastor explained in a sermon some time ago, grace is getting something we do not deserve. We don’t deserve salvation; we are too full of sin. We don’t deserve to go to Heaven; we’ve done nothing worthy. We don’t deserve all the blessings he’s bestowed on us; we could never repay Him. But “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16
Isn’t that amazing? All we have to do to obtain God’s Amazing Grace is to accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior and believing in him, we will reap the rewards of Heaven. And just like a doting parent, God lavishes us with his grace, giving us so much more that what we deserve.
Please don’t look around and say “Well, I don’t see that God’s given me anything that I haven’t work for!” May God have mercy on your soul if you cannot see his wonderful grace in your life. He has given s the very breath of life and we live in a country where, for now, we are able to worship Him openly and without fear. I praise God for that privilege.
Tell someone of God’s Amazing Grace. This is too good not to share with someone. Spread the Good News to all who will hear, that is what God wants in return for his wonderful blessings.
