A Letter to the Lost
Dear Friend,
I hope this letter finds you well and in good spirits. I hope that you will read this letter in its entirety and take the information I’m about to give to you and apply it to your life. I want to write to you and hopefully help you to understand some things that are going on and help you to find a better way to live.
If you haven’t noticed, there are lots of bad things going on in this old world. There are wars and famine, diseases and earthquakes, more so than we have ever heard of before. Our political system is in an uproar and so is our economy. Why do I bring up all this bad stuff you may ask? Well, it’s because I love you, and I want to warn you that things are going to get a whole lot worse before they get better. How do I know this? Because I believe what is in the Bible and the Bible says so.
Right now, you are probably ready to throw this letter in the trash. You think that I’m just another Bible thumper, screaming “The End Is Near!” Bible thumpers have been saying that for ages and so far, nothing, right? Well, let me say it one more time. We are closer now than we’ve ever been. There are things taking place that are setting in motion, the end times.
I want you to know that there is hope in all this hopelessness. That hope is the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. God has provided a way that we can be saved from total destruction.
God knew this world would fall into destruction as the carnal nature of man took hold and sin destroyed the world. He knew that he could not abide sin in His presence, so He sent the ultimate sacrifice to our world. He sent his son Jesus. Jesus lived a human life and experienced the things that we go through so that when he died for our sins on the cross at Calvary, his blood would wash away the sin in our lives so that we could be in God’s presence once again.
You may say, “What does this have to do with me or with what is going on in the world today?” It has everything to do with you. In order for us to survive in the coming chaos, we need God. We can’t make it without him. To have God in our lives, we must have Jesus wash away our sins. But how can we have this?
First, admit that you are a sinner. For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6:23
Second, believe that jess Christ died for your sins on the cross at Calvary and accept him as your savior, asking him to cim and live inside your heart. But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8 For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16
Third, confess (admit and tell others) that through the blood of Jesus Christ, you are saved. Whomsoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven. Matthew 10:32.
Salvation s a choice, not a requirement. You can choose where you spend eternity. Will it be Heaven or Hell?
